Turban History

History of Turban dates back to the times of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji ( in 1500 ) since when sikhs have been wearing the Turban. The following lines from Adi Granth outline the importance of Turban in Sikh Life.

" Let Living in his Presence   with mind rid of impurities,   be your discipline   keep the God given form intact   with a Turban donned in your head "                    Adi Granth, P - 1084, Line 12

Siikh wearing a Turban is considered conspicuous among the crowds of thousands. Sikhs all over the world wear the Turban with pride, glory & panache as for every Sikh a Turban or Dastaar or Pag or Pagri is a crown for every Sikh blessed by the Sikh Gurus.
